Cotswolds foodie hit The Scenic Supper returns for summer 2025

Acclaimed Cotswolds dining hub, Roots + Seeds Cafe & Kitchen, in Cirencester Park, is bringing back The Scenic Supper this June 2025.

The Scenic Supper was founded by local school friends Toby Baggott and Sam Lawson-King.

The Scenic Supper near Cirencester was a runaway hit in the social distancing era of the global pandemic in July 2020.

From glasshouses in a field, school friends Toby Baggott and Sam Lawson-King served up a series of feasts that had foodie fans flocking.

Now, just weeks after launching a new kitchen in Gloucester and celebrating the second birthday of Roots + Seeds Kitchen Garden at the Old Kennels on the edge of Cirencester Park, Toby and Sam have revealed the popular suppers are back on the menu this summer.

In June 2025, seasonal dishes and cocktails will be served within glasshouses at the Old Kennels over four dates — Friday 6, Saturday 7, Friday 13 and Saturday 14 June 2025. Cocktails will be poured from 6.30pm and dinner is served at 7pm.

Head chef, Sam Idoine's menus will showcase fresh, home-grown and local artisan produce, including locally reared beef, lamb, pork and poultry, game from the Bathurst Estate and its neighbours, and fresh fish and seafood delivered daily from Brixham in Devon. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also available on every menu.

Offering just five tables, seating four people, the menu features four seasonal dishes for £45 per person. Diners will get to enjoy views over Cirencester Park and Roots + Seeds' kitchen garden and cafe restaurant.

The five original Scenic Supper glasshouses were relocated to Roots + Seeds Kitchen Garden, which opened at Easter 2023 as a cafe restaurant with its own onsite kitchen garden.

Its ethos since opening has focused on sustainability and building relationships with the wider community, whilst providing a fun, welcoming, family-focused environment and celebrating the fresh produce grown in its own quarter acre kitchen garden and from its suppliers within a 25-mile radius.

Roots + Seeds scooped the highly commended award in the Chef of the Year category for Sam Idoine at the 2024 Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards.
