Cheers to gold award-winning drinks producer, Cotswolds Distillery!

Local drinks producer, Cotswolds Distilleryhas won a prestigious gold medal in the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, which officially makes its Cotswolds Bourbon Cask one of the best whiskeys in the world.

The globally-renowned San Francisco World Spirits Competition is akin to the Oscars in the drinks world, being the the biggest and most influential awards of its kind which recognises only the highest quality spirits

The 2023 competition saw more than 5,500 entries from drinks producers from all over the world – and incredibly, the Stourton-based distillery's signature Cotswolds Bourbon Cask was the only UK product to win gold in the whiskey category.

Considered Cotswolds Distillery's purest whiskey to date, the Cotswolds Bourbon Cask uses top quality first fill American oak casks from US distilleries like Basil Hayden's and Bookers, known for their epic bourbon.

It's an authentic single malt whisky which boasts aromas of honey, butterscotch and apples and flavours of lemon, baking spices and toffee apples – with Cotswolds Distillery recommending a simple serve to really appreciate its delicate flavours.

Cotswolds Distillery also won silver medals for The Cotswolds Harvest Series: Golden Wold and Cotswolds Reserve; as well as a gold for its limited-edition, small batch Cotswolds Treacle Rum.

Whiskey enthusiasts can sample its award-winning tipples for themselves at the distillery in Stourton, where Cotswolds Distillery hosts regular tours and tastings and whiskey blending masterclasses. While its hand-crafted gins and liqueurs deserve a big cheers, too!
