Tivoli Cinemas has released images of its new location in Bath, which opens on Friday 21 December 2018, with a similar concept to the one Cheltenham can expect to see in its own Tivoli Cinema, being built in 2019.
Cheltenham’s new boutique cinema will be built in the basement of Regent Arcade’s former BHS store, after it was given planning permission in October 2018, and is likely to be open by the end of 2019.
It’s part of a huge transformation project at the Regent Arcade shopping centre, which includes the five-screen cinema, four restaurants and a rooftop bar, in what’s described by Regent Arcade as an ‘exciting mixed-use development.’
Tivoli Cinemas says on its Facebook page that the new venue in Bath is ‘a merger of the best in casual dining, five-star hotel quality lounge areas, and the latest films.’
It explains how guests can ‘relax within stylish auditoria with excellent sight and sound, including all-laser projection for crisp clean images, coupled with Tivoli’s widescreen experience.’
Here in Cheltenham, the new cinema is following a similar vision, with luxurious extra-wide sofas instead of seats, and individual tables where hot and cold food and drink can be served before visitors settle down to watch a film.
Alongside the cinema, Tivoli plans to include a casual dining area with a licensed bar serving wine, cake and coffee throughout the day. There will also be a Directors Lounge and Screen, which will be an exclusive hire experience for special occasions.
