Cheltenham’s Suffolk Rock restaurant is offering free Christmas lunches to homeless people and those in need on Boxing Day 2019.

A kind festive gesture, the new eatery on Suffolk Parade will be serving up the free meal on Thursday 26 December 2019, between 1pm and 3pm, with people encouraged to simply turn up between those times to join in.

Suffolk Rock opened for business in October 2019, and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday lunch, priding itself on using local and organic produce where possible.

Speaking about the Christmas initiative, Suffolk Rock’s owner Max Mitchell said: ‘I wanted to do this because I think it’s important to give something back.

‘I’ve been lucky enough to have a Christmas lunch each year and I want to be able to provide one for those who might not have much this Christmas.’
