Boston Tea Party bans single use cups

From Friday June 1 2018, coffee lovers will need to take their own takeaway cup to the town’s Boston Tea Party.

Boston Tea Party branches across the UK have banned single use cups from Friday June 1 2018.

This means that anyone wanting to takeaway a hot drink from the popular café will need to take their own cup with them.

The firm is selling discounted reusable cups for people who don’t have a takeaway cup, and there’s also a loan cup scheme for people who’ve forgotten their cup.

Boston Tea Party says: ‘We’ll make it easy as possible for you to carry on getting your usual takeaway coffee, but the onus is on all of us to change our habits and make a difference for our planet.

‘We want to demonstrate to other operators that to make a difference, big change is needed. We will make this work and we’ll share details of how we’ve done it with anyone who wants our help to do the same.’

For more information see Boston Tea Party or call (01242) 576266.
