In a nutshell

Set in the heart of the bustling Gloucester Quays, Bill’s came up trumps with stylish interiors, a feverously good full English, and perfectly poached eggs aplenty.

The review

Kicking off with a coffee

Easing into Friday morning with intrigued appetites, we sat down at our table at the Gloucester branch of Bill’s, taking in the stylish décor and musing over the enticing breakfast menu.

Featuring a whole host of delicious delights, the appetising choices encompass everything from smoked streaky bacon and pancakes topped with Bill’s signature syrup, to the classic Bill’s breakfast which promises a hearty take on a full English fry up.

After much deliberation, we placed our orders and started our day the best way we know how… with a fresh British brew in hand and a perfectly frothed cappuccino.

Having settled on the Bill’s breakfast complete with fried eggs, heavenly crisp bacon, pesto roasted plum tomatoes, mushrooms and swoon-worthy sausages, we were not disappointed.

Our other choices were the eggs royale and eggs benedict which came up trumps – we enjoyed perfectly poached eggs which were served up with a light, fresh hollandaise and a sprinkling of seeds that added a glorious crunch.

Packing a punch full of flavour, the smoked ham and streaky bacon went down a treat with the team, and as ever, we couldn’t turn down tasty extras including our firm favourite, avocado, and extra black pudding with the bountiful Bill’s Breakfast.

Service with a smile

Feeling seriously satisfied and with our rumbling tummies now a distant memory, we couldn’t fault the superb service as our coffee cups were never empty and our special requests were catered for too.

Paying homage to Bill’s signature style, the restaurant promises a trendy blend of industrial chic and fuss free dining which is sure to have us returning… perhaps for a towering pile of pancakes next time!
