Roots + Seeds is the latest independent eatery to join Gloucester Food Dock's thriving food destination this April 2025.
Officially opening on Tuesday 8 April 2025, the new cafe and kitchen brings everything from light bites and ‘grab and go’ takeaway options to hearty mains.
After establishing a successful restaurant in Cirencester, co-owners and school friends Toby Baggott and Sam Lawson are thrilled to be opening their second cafe in Gloucestershire.
The pair said: 'We are both so excited to bring our local and seasonal menu to Gloucester and share dishes that highlight some of the amazing producers of Gloucestershire.
'We’re really looking forward to joining a fantastic food community of like-minded businesses here at the Food Dock.'
The field-to-fork breakfast, brunch and lunch options are all made to order in the kitchen.
On the brasserie-style lunch menu, visitors will find dishes such as beer battered fish and chips, the Roots + Seeds cheeseburger with skin-on fries, and their famous sticky toffee pudding.
There will also be a regularly changing specials board with dishes dictated by the seasons. This spring, customers can enjoy braised lamb shoulder and wild garlic gnocchi.
With a selection of ingredients sourced from suppliers within a 25-mile radius and their own Roots + Seeds Kitchen Garden, the menu is a celebration of local produce and fresh ingredients.
Co-owner of Gloucester Food Dock, Ken Elliott, said: 'With this opening, all of the deck and quayside spaces are now occupied.
'Roots + Seeds brings another dimension to the cuisine of the Food Dock along with bags of personality.
'Their passion and creativity will be a great addition to our growing community.
'The indoor space is light and airy and a great place to meet for a coffee, brunch or lunch, with outside seating also available in time for the warm weather.'
The two remaining empty units are on Commercial Road in Gloucester.
