Offering a new space for children and their families to play, sing, dance and learn, The Wilson Gallery in Cheltenham will open their brand-new World of Wonders gallery area next month.

Set to open on Friday 11 May 2018, the gallery will see a former space that has been closed for years, transformed into a permanent area for children, carers and their families to enjoy interesting objects and collections that haven’t been on display for over 30 years.

Made to be completely accessible, the space will boast a fully inclusive space that even has dyslexia-friendly fonts to encourage engagement for all abilities. What’s more, an extensive handling collection, buggy park and on-site café means it will be ideal for young families to enjoy.

With the help of extensive funding, the gallery will see a previously closed area of the museum made suitable for children to enjoy and entry will be free of charge, with donations encouraged.

Speaking about the opening, CEO of The Cheltenham Trust, Julie Finch said: ‘We’re incredible proud to be opening this inclusive, accessible and audience-led gallery, which places us at the forefront of museum learning experiences.’
