Summer at Gloucester Docks wouldn’t be the same without boat trips on the Dunkirk Little Ship, Queen Boadicea II.
Boating fans can now book in advance for boat trips from the National Waterways Museum Gloucester.
Bookings are available on 45-minute trips and also for longer special events such as the two-hour Father's Day tea and cake cruise on Sunday 16 June 2024.
This special trip includes a hot drink and slice of cake halfway through the journey along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. It costs £25 for adults and £15 for children.
For those wanting to find out a bit more about the boat's history, there's an exhibition on the Quayside where you board your cruise.
You'll be able to find out how Queen Boadicea II went from offering pleasure cruises on the Thames to becoming a Dunkirk Little Ship.
The intriguing story includes a royal connection, war-time bravery and a trailblazing 1930s businesswoman.
Regular boat trips cost £11.50 for adults and £7 for children and last for 45-minutes, cruising along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and back to Gloucester Docks.
You can buy tickets at the museum on the day or online. Booking in advance is essential on the two-hour cruises.
Trips run from Tuesday to Saturday, setting sail at midday and 1.30pm from the museum quayside, at the back of the museum and there's no need to pay for museum entry if you just want to go on the boat.
With a mixture of covered seating and open seating on deck, there's some protection from the elements and the boat is wheelchair accessible, although the access plank is unable to take large motorised wheelchairs
If you fancy a visit to the museum before or after your boat trip, it is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
