Prinknash Bird and Deer Park is a popular attraction for families in Gloucestershire, but will be closing its doors for good in 2019.

Known for its charming children’s activities, Christmas grotto and year-round opportunities to get up-close to friendly deer and peacocks, The Bird and Deer Park at Prinknash has been a stalwart attraction for Gloucestershire families for more than 40 years.

But, following the sale of its iconic timber Wendy house in August 2019, the venue has announced that it will close permanently on Monday 2 September 2019.

The animals and birds from the park will be relocated to All Things Wild animal park in Evesham.

The Bird Park was launched in by 1974 by Philip Meigh, who wanted to move his private collection of waterfowl to a larger 10-acre site in Prinknash.
Since then, the venue has been owned and operated by Philip’s daughter Melanie Meigh, who has added to Prinknash’s collection of Fallow deer and birds throughout her career.

SoGlos has repeatedly approached The Bird and Deer Park for comment, but has so far been unsuccessful.
