Bishop's Cleeve's long-awaited new skate park and pump track has opened this November 2024, in the parish sports field on Cheltenham Road.

Designed and built by Maverick Skateparks — a skater-run design company which specialises in spray concrete skate parks — alongside cycle specialists, Velosolutions, work began on the state-of-the-art park and pump track back in June, with construction taking five months.

The park is also floodlit for night time use, too.

Councillor Claire Wells from Bishop's Cleeve Parish Council said: 'If you hear a huge sigh of relief fall over the village that'll be from the parish office! The skate park and pump track are officially open.

'This project has been an absolute labour of love which has taken an age to come to fruition, with many obstacles thrown in our way, but we did it!

'We are absolutely delighted to be able to provide and share these facilities for the parish.'

An official opening day is planned for Saturday 5 April 2025, with pro skater and rider demos, competitions and much more planned for the spring celebration.
