Junior reporters wanted to cover Gloucester Rugby games

Gloucester Rugby is looking to sign up a squad of juniors to report on the Cherry and White’s home games at Kingsholm Stadium.

Its Junior Reporter Programme will give kids behind-the-scenes access to the famous Gloucestershire sports club and a chance to share their passion for rugby with other fans.

Each reporter will get a family ticket to a home game, along with food and drink vouchers, and the opportunity to meet the players and watch games pitch-side.

After the match their reports, either in video or written format, will be shared across the Gloucester Rugby online channels for everyone to see.

Dan Smith, whose son won a similar opportunity with the club, said: ‘We loved our time reporting at Gloucester Rugby.

It was a great bonding experience. The team at the club went out of their way to ensure we had an unforgettable experience.’

Helen Chu, community and foundation manager at Gloucester Rugby, said: ‘We want to encourage young fans to fall in love with the game and the club as much as we have.’

Junior reporters must be between 10 and 16 years old and able to travel to Kingsholm on match days. Applications can be submitted via the Junior Reporter page on Gloucester Rugby’s website.

The competition is now open and the deadline to enter is Sunday 19 December 2021.
