Hartpury College has received the accolade of an 'Outstanding' rating across all areas in its latest inspection by Ofsted of its student residential accommodation.
The college houses 703 residential students, 585 of which are under 18-years-old, and puts a strong emphasis on student well-being, safety, safeguarding and academic success, with this prestigious rating directly reflecting this.
The report commended Hartpury for 'fostering a thriving residential community,' and stated: 'Students thrive in the residential provision at this college. A dedicated and committed staff team supports them to reach their potential.
'Students value the opportunities that come from being a residential student. Leaders nurture and foster a sense of community that students belong to.'
To make sure new students settle in smoothly, Hartpury implements a structured induction programme that includes team-building activities to help form friendships, as well as enrichment opportunities like sports matches and fun games evenings.
And the academic environment was praised for its high expectations and high-quality facilities, alongside the safeguarding and student protection strategies that are made up of a proactive approach to student safety and a restorative approach to behaviour management.
Deputy principal at Hartpury College, Lesley Worsfold, said: 'We are thrilled to receive this ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and the positive, supportive community we have built here at Hartpury.
'We will continue to strive for excellence in providing the best possible residential experience for our students.'
