Harry Potter fans in Gloucestershire can celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as the magical movie returns to the big screen at Cineworld Cheltenham.
Showing from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 October 2021 at the cinema in Cheltenham’s Brewery Quarter, the screening promises to be an enchanting half term treat for muggles and wizards alike.
Based on J.K. Rowling’s original story, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is the first movie in the eight-part franchise. Originally released back in 2001, the movie welcomed Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter, Rupert Grint’s Ron Weasley, Emma Watson’s Hermione Granger and other on-screen favourites to Hogwarts for the very first time.
It was also the first time moviegoers got to see Gloucester Cathedral as Hogwarts, with its famous Cloisters providing the backdrop for various epic scenes in both Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
So whether you’re Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin or Ravenclaw, celebrate 20 years of movie magic with this special series of screenings.
