A new online service has launched for Gloucestershire Libraries members, allowing them to get their literature fix by reserving and collecting books, as well as DVDs and other reading materials, from Monday 13 July 2020.
With libraries across Gloucestershire closed since March 2020 and unable to fully reopen yet, readers can now handpick and reserve their next book from an extensive online catalogue, before choosing a convenient timeslot to collect their borrowed books from one of 12 local libraries.
Library staff are also operating an ‘off the shelf’ service, selecting surprise books for adventurous readers.
And library-goers without internet access can also call staff at one of the 12 libraries taking part and use the ‘ring and read’ system instead.
The 12 Gloucestershire Libraries taking part initially are:
• Cheltenham
• Up Hatherley
• Longlevens
• Quedgeley
• Cinderford
• Coleford
• Moreton
• Cirencester
• Tewkesbury
• Bishops Cleeve
• Stroud
• Wotton
