Talented children and young people from all over Gloucestershire have written and recorded an original song to say a big thank you to key workers and raise money for Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity.
The single called ‘Every Rainbow Drawn’ involved over 60 young musicians, who wrote the song and recorded a clip of themselves performing it from home.
Music leaders from The Music Works then edited each clip into a music video to create a virtual band and choir all performing together in harmony. The final piece took more than a month to put together.
CEO of The Music Works, Deborah Potts, said: ‘We know that there’s loads of musical talent in the county, because we see it from young people that we work with every week. And it’s great for people to have something creative and expressive to do during lockdown. The finished song is really beautiful!’
16-year-old Callum who performed on the single said: ‘The NHS are doing everything they can to try and support us and keep us happy, healthy and safe. This song is a thank you to all of the frontline workers who sacrifice so much to be there for us – and we can also hopefully raise some money for them so they have resources to use in this time of need.’
