Voi e-scooters are offering voters in Cheltenham and Gloucester free rides to and from their local polling stations for the upcoming local elections.
Locals on their way to the polling station can claim two free 15-minute rides on Thursday 2 May 2024 using the code VOTE.
In a social media post announcing the offer, the e-scooter operator encouraged voters to 'ask your local politicians to prioritise the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and e-scooter riders by investing in cycling and active travel infrastructure.'
The Swedish micro mobility company has a presence in over 100 towns and cities across 12 countries and has been the e-scooter provider for Cheltenham and Gloucester since August 2023, when it was appointed an initial 10-month contract after taking over from former operator, Zwings.
It also recently reduced the age restriction for riders from 18-years-old to 16, providing riders have at least a provisional driving license.
The two free rides offer is only available using the code VOTE on polling day on Thursday 2 May 2024.
Voters must remember to bring photographic ID, such as a photocard driving license, passport, older person's bus pass, Oyster 60+ card or another acceptable form of photo ID in order to cast their vote.
