Residents and visitors can look forward to a packed schedule of films, music, and summer sport at Imperial Gardens in Cheltenham, this July and August 2021.

Cheltenham’s Imperial Gardens is hosting open-air entertainment on its brand-new big screen from Friday 23 July 2021.

Big Screen in the Gardens is running until the end of August 2021, with the line-up including sporting fixtures; the Olympics and Paralympics; BBC Proms; and family films throughout the day and into the evening.

After a difficult year, the brand-new event being led by Cheltenham Borough Council is part of a larger plan to aid the town’s economic recovery with support from the government’s Welcome Back fund, which encourages visitors to return to towns and cities across the country.

What’s more, whilst relaxing with a film or enjoying a summer of sport, visitors can also enjoy a range of refreshing drinks and snacks from the Garden Bar in Imperial Gardens.

Councillor Victoria Atherstone, cabinet member for culture, wellbeing and business, said: ‘After the challenges of the last year, it’s so wonderful to see the kind of events and festivals that Cheltenham is so famous for returning and helping to bring that sense of joy and vibrancy back into The Festival Town.’

The big screen will be at Imperial Gardens in Cheltenham from Friday 23 July until Monday 30 August 2021.
