Take a magical trip to the 'North Pole' and back this festive season, as you board the Santa Express with Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway for a special journey to see Father Christmas.
With trains running on selected dates from Saturday 23 November until Monday 23 December 2024, families can enjoy a ride on a historic steam locomotive adorned with festive decor, embarking at Cheltenham Racecourse and travelling to Winchcombe Station.
Enjoy the comforting, rhythmic chug of the vintage steam train, with the journey offering the perfect opportunity to write letters to Santa Claus, to hand deliver to him, while soaking up the picturesque landscapes of the Cotswolds.
Promising to spark Christmas joy, once families have arrived at their destination, they will walk through an enchanting wonderland of twinkling lights, trees and decorations on the path to meet Santa, where each child will receive a special gift from the jolly man in red himself.
Adding to the festive fun, there are complimentary refreshments — such as the railway’s delicious mince pies, biscuits and drinks — in a heated marquee, with adults having the option of sipping on a complimentary glass of mulled wine.
To refuel after all of the excitement, there are also baps filled with bacon, burgers or sausages available to purchase at Winchcombe Station, along with the opportunity to buy additional boxes of mince pies or beers to take home with you before re-joining the train for the trip back.
Keep an eye out for the singing penguins, too!
Tickets for Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway's Santa Express cost £28.50 per person and go on sale at 12pm on Tuesday 3 September 2024.
As one of Gloucestershire's most popular Christmas events, tickets are expected to sell fast, so it's advised to book early in order to secure seats.
