We're halfway through the summer holidays, but if the kids are already bored of their bikes, tired of their toys and fed up with football, the Museum of Gloucester has you covered.

It's latest installation, Brick History Exhibition (LEGO®), brings some of history's most iconic moments to life in miniature, with recreations of the Big Bang, dinosaurs, the moon landings, Concorde, DNA and famous faces from Mozart to Martin Luther King Junior.

The ultimate experience for LEGO® fans, each colourful exhibit is made entirely of bricks with painstaking attention to detail.

As well as showing kids endless opportunities for creative play using LEGO®, with plenty of inspiration to take home, it's a great way for kids to brush up on their historical knowledge, helping them learn something new and have fun at the same time.

There are a host of activities accompanying the exhibition, too, from daily quizzes, a dressing up box, a selfie station, colouring sheets and a brick-themed trail around the museum, to hands-on craft workshops.

Visitors can take part in the museum's free LEGO® mosaic project and build a square of a giant community mosaic which will go on display at the end of summer.

Brick builders big and small can let their imaginations run wild, with free building sessions for under fives taking place every Friday and over fives every Saturday from 10am until 12pm.

Budding bakers aged seven and up can take part in a LEGO®-themed cupcake decorating workshop on Saturday 24 August 2024; while bigger bakers can enjoy an adults-only coffee and cake decorating session on Saturday 31 August 2024 — with the last few tickets remaining, costing £10 for children or £15 for adults.

And when you're all bricked out, the Museum of Gloucester's permanent collection has loads of fun things to see, from the world-famous Birdlip mirror, one of the oldest games on the globe, to a real-life Roman skull!

Brick History Exhibition (LEGO®) is at the Museum of Gloucester until Sunday 6 October 2024. Tickets cost £8.50 per person or £32.50 for a family of up to five — and kids under three go free.
