With the most wonderful time of the year in danger of being overshadowed by cost of living rises, a Stroud hotel is hoping to make one family's Christmas wishes come true - by giving away a free festive stay.
Stonehouse Court in Stroud is encouraging anyone whose Christmas plans have been hit by job losses, cost increases or a family crisis to apply for a complementary three-day stay, worth £2,670.
To be considered, families can write to the hotel team summarising why they deserve to spend Christmas at the 17th Century Manor House.
General manager of Stonehouse Court, Maz Jurko, said: 'I think everyone has been impacted following the economic downturn. However, it’s inconceivable to think the increased cost of living is forcing some families to consider cancelling their Christmas plans.
'Such a prospect didn’t sit well with our team and we wanted to make it feasible to save someone’s Christmas.
'Sadly, we can’t help everyone affected in these tumultuous times, though, showcasing goodwill to one selected family can hopefully go a long way in encouraging others to go that extra mile, too. It is the time for giving, after all.'
Families have until Thursday 24 November 2022 to apply via the hotel's website.
