Cheltenham Ladies’ College is celebrating this July 2021, as its pupils have achieved the best International Baccalaureate Diploma results in the school’s history.
Achieving an average of 42.7 points, which is equivalent to four A* grades at A Level, the results mean every student secured their diploma with significantly higher marks than the global average of 33.2 points.
Six pupils were awarded the highest possible grade – 45 out of 45 – with four girls also achieving Bilingual Diplomas after mastering two languages to native speaker standard. In addition, half of the school’s IB pupils achieved full marks in all three of their Higher Level subjects.
Their incredible results will see students go on to study at some of the UK’s top universities including Cambridge, Durham, Imperial College London and London School of Economics, as well as world-leading colleges in the USA and Hong Kong.
Cheltenham Ladies’ College Principal, Eve Jardine-Young, said: ‘In yet another difficult year for the country’s Sixth Formers, I continue to be inspired by the resilience, focus and dedication our pupils have shown.
‘These exceptional results demonstrate their ability to commit fully to a stimulating global qualification which encourages them to think critically and solve complex problems, qualities which are required more than ever in these challenging times.’
