Cheltenham Literature Festival has made its 2020 line-up of family and schools events available to watch online during lockdown three, supporting teachers and home-schooling caregivers in Gloucestershire and beyond.
Access to the free #Cheltlitfest programme has been extended until Friday 12 February 2021, with inspiring author talks, draw-along segments, poetry and storytelling sessions to get children and young people hooked on reading.
With material suitable for all age groups, from younger children aged four plus to secondary students, hear from trailblazing writers including Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara, the author of Little People, Big Dreams; award-winning poet Elizabeth Acevedo; and the bestselling author of the Alex Rider spy series, Anthony Horowitz.
Making literacy lessons more exciting, many events include creative challenges from short imaginative writing tasks to designing posters, book covers and even creating comic strips.
There’s a wealth of supporting information and resources, adapted for both primary and secondary school ages, in downloadable packs available via the Cheltenham Festivals website – with fun crafting tasks and tips on how to make your own bunting to recreate the magic of the festival at home.
