It’s time for Gloucestershire’s most gifted pets to shine, as animal lovers across the county are invited to show off their fur babies in a virtual pet competition, organised by Cheltenham Animal Shelter and Willans LLP solicitors.

Launching in March 2021, My Pet’s Got Talent welcomes entries from all domestic animals, giving proud pet-parents the chance to showcase their beloved companions’ special talents – all while raising money for Cheltenham Animal Shelter.

With three categories including ‘Talented Dogs’, ‘Talented Cats’ and ‘All Other Pets Unleashed’, animals of all shapes, sizes and species are welcome to take part, from dancing dogs to talkative parrots.

Owners can enter their gifted pets by submitting a short video of their furry friend doing something interesting, impressive or simply super cute, along with a caption describing their unique talent.

At a cost of £3, the money from each entry will help Cheltenham Animal Shelter to continue rescuing, rehoming and looking after the hundreds of homeless dogs, cats and small animals that come into its care from across Gloucestershire each year.

A shortlist of the very best videos will be presented for public vote from Friday 5 to Monday 15 March 2021.

The winners from each category will be announced on Wednesday 17 March 2021 and the champions will be awarded a £25 gift card to spend on pet-friendly goodies.

Emma Thompson, a member of the Willans charity committee, said: ‘We are so pleased to be partnering with Cheltenham Animal Shelter – our current charity of the year as chosen collectively by Willans’ staff. The charity sector has taken a big hit from Covid-19 and it has never been more important for people to dig deep where they can.’

‘We’ve seen first-hand the incredible work that the shelter does; every entry will make a real difference. We can’t wait to see the entries and the incredible range of talents.’
