After what feels like an eternal hiatus for the arts, the Roses Theatre is finally able to put on live performances once again this summer – with a new outdoor show being performed in Tewkesbury’s Victoria Gardens.
The Tewkesbury theatre’s new summer programme of shows launches with (Almost) A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Thursday 24 June 2021, which has been written exclusively for the Roses by actor and playwright Nick Wilkes.
A wonderful way for the family to celebrate the end of lockdown, audiences are encouraged to bring along their own picnic and bubbles to enjoy during the alfresco performance – toasting a fresh start to the Roses’ ambitious new line-up.
Jess Brewster, director of the Roses Theatre, said: ‘It’s been a really tough year but thanks to the furlough scheme, grants from Arts Council England and no small measure of grit and determination displayed by the whole team, we’re still standing’.
(Almost) A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be performed from Thursday 24 June to Sunday 4 July 2021, with tickets costing from £12.
