The Roses Theatre's new website promises a streamlined ticketing process and an improved customer experience.

Tewkesbury's leading arts destination, The Roses Theatre, has unveiled its brand-new website after months of work behind-the-scenes.

The theatre and cinema received a cash injection from the third and final round of the government's Cultural Recovery Fund, to help it rebuild audiences after the Covid-19 pandemic and create a sustainable future – with The Roses being one of only 20 recipients.

It has invested the funding in a brand-new website, created in partnership with digital agency Supercool, which works exclusively with arts and cultural organisations.

As well as a bold new colour scheme, a user-friendly layout and a streamlined ticketing process, the new website showcases the broad variety of events taking place at the venue both on and off stage, including its many community outreach schemes and artist development opportunities.

It also makes accessibility information easier to find, with links to access performances including sensory-friendly, dementia-friendly, audio described and BSL interpreted shows, as well as information for neurodivergent theatregoers.

Sustainability was high on the agenda, too, with The Roses donating the equivalent of nine trees to the Woodland Trust to offset the carbon emissions from creating the new site, helping to support local Sites of Specific Scientific Interest like Lineover Wood near Cheltenham.

The Roses Theatre's head of marketing, Caroline Lawrence, said: 'Our website was desperately in need of an upgrade. The old one was good at selling tickets, but The Roses does so much more than that!

'We needed a website that showed off the breadth of our work and partnerships away from the stage and screen as well as the huge range of entertainment we are known across the region for.

'Of course, selling tickets is still important, so the new website has streamlined that process and made it much, much easier for customers to find and book their favourite shows.'

The new website is just one of the exciting new developments taking place at The Roses Theatre in 2023, with the venue set to start work on accessibility improvements this March 2023 after its Christmas crowdfunding campaign raised £10,000
