National bar and nightclub operator, Epic Bars and Clubs, is expanding its Gloucestershire portfolio, taking over Gloucester's iconic nightlife venue, ATIK.
The company, which already runs Home & Botanic nightclub in Cheltenham, has ambitious plans for the space — with a full scale, £750,000 refurbishment lined up before it reopens with a brand-new look and name in August 2024.
With ATIK due to host its closing parties on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July 2024, Epic has just one month to complete its mammoth renovation project, which hopes to restore the Eastgate Street club to its 'former glory' as the city's leading late-night entertainment venue.
This huge investment in Gloucester's nightlife scene is set to be revealed on the weekend of Friday 30 and Saturday 31 August 2024, when the nightclub welcomes partygoers back with an impressive new look, brand and name — Trilogy.
Nick Martindale, PR director at Epic Bars and Clubs, said: 'We are thrilled to be bringing our Epic brand of magic to the city of Gloucester
'We’ve got something so extraordinary planned for this site as we take it into its next chapter as Trilogy. I can’t wait for everyone to see it!'
Epic Bars and Clubs runs 22 nightlife sites across the UK, including Cheltenham's popular nightclub Home & Botanic.
It takes over ATIK from nightclub group, Rekom UK, which called in administrators in January 2024 — closing many of its UK nightlife venues due to higher energy prices and decreased student spending in the cost of living crisis.
The all-new Trilogy in Gloucester will form part of Epic's Trilogy brand, with nightclubs already in destinations like Blackpool, Colchester and nearby Hereford.
Trilogy Gloucester plans to open on the weekend of Friday 30 and Saturday 31 August 2024 — just in time for Gloucestershire's fresh intake of students in September.
