Will Cirencester's Emily Coward be able to defeat the Elite Ninjas when she appears on ITV’s Ninja Warrior UK: Race for Glory?

Making its return after a three-year hiatus, Ninja Warrior UK: Race for Glory is back on television screens across the country in a brand-new format — seeing wannabe ninjas tackle courses that are tougher than ever before.

And Gloucestershire's very own warrior, Emily Coward from Cirencester, is among the 10 contestants who is participating in this year's series, with the new-style show seeing her compete against not only her peers, but an experienced team of athletes who form a new team of 'Elite Ninjas'.

Facing formidable competition, Gloucestershire viewers can see Coward put her strength to the test, when she appears on the show on Saturday 15 October 2022.

This year, hosts Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes and Chris Kamara are on the hunt to find two winners, who will be named Ninja Warrior UK men and women's champions.

Shephard commented: 'We’ve changed the format. For the first time ever, worldwide, we’ve introduced Elite Ninjas. Our competitors are going to be racing on the course, which is inherently exciting, but then they’re going to have to try to beat an Elite Ninja.

'We have these extraordinary professionals who work on the courses, they compete worldwide, and we brought them all together like the elite dream team of Ninjas.'

When talking about the changes that fans can expect to see in the new series, Humes said: 'We’re looking for two winners this time and have a male and female competition. The same gruelling obstacles, but they race at different times. That way, we see two champions, which I’m super excited about.'

See how Coward does in the new series of Ninja Warrior: Race for Glory on ITV and ITV Hub on Saturday 15 October 2022, at 5.30pm.

We're rooting for her!
