A controversial sound cooked up during lockdown has won a Bibury songwriter a place in not just one, but two prestigious music competitions.

Rhi Evans, who poured her emotions into her first single ‘Skin’, has made it to the finals of both The UK Songwriting Contest and the International Songwriting Competition.

The 28-year-old, known as Reebz, who combined electronic, industrial and metal-inspired music will be judged by top songwriters from around the globe.

Evans, who is now working on her first album, said: ‘This is the most awesome thing that has ever happened to me so far! A lot of hard work went into this single during lockdown, and I’m absolutely stoked with how much engagement it has garnered. Especially for a debut release with a controversial sound.’

The results of the International Songwriting Competition will be announced in September 2022. Evans made it to the top six of The UK Songwriting Contest, with results announced in February 2022.
