A Gloucestershire couple is hoping to win big on ITV's new prime-time reality show, The Fortune Hotel.
Claire White, who is the commercial director at Tewkesbury Park, is hoping her luxury hotel experience combined with husband Dan's competitive nature will help them take home a £250,000 cash prize.
The first episode of the drama-filled series aired on Monday 13 May 2024 on ITV1 and continues every night for the next two weeks.
Described as a game of lying, akin to BBC's The Traitors, The Fortune Hotel sees 10 pairs of contestants stay at a luxury Caribbean resort, each in possession of a briefcase.
One of the cases conceals a £250,000 cash prize; eight are empty; and the last contains a dreaded 'early check out' card, which will see one unlucky pair sent packing at the end of each day.
The teams compete in challenges throughout the show, with the best performers able to choose whether they want to keep hold of their suitcase or exchange it with somebody else's.
Contestants scheme and bluff their way through group interactions in the hopes of avoiding elimination and getting their hands on the big cash prize.
Guests at the hotel are told to expect the unexpected by its mischievous 'manager' — actor Stephen Mangan — which Tewkesbury Park says is 'a far cry' from its own resort, where it aims to maximise the guest experience, under the 'meticulous' direction of manager Samantha Birch.
Claire said: 'When asked if we'd like to stay in a luxury Caribbean hotel, with all expenses paid and the chance to win £250,000 in cash… who’s going to say no?
'What we didn’t expect in appearing on The Fortune Hotel was that we would meet so many amazing people; many of whom have since come to stay at Tewkesbury Park.
'I just hope that the team at Tewkesbury Park outperform Dan and I with their room service challenges!'
The eight-part series is on ITV1 every weekday at 9pm for the next two weeks — and available to catch up on ITVX.
