Glastonbury Festival is unable to go ahead for the second year running, with the world-famous music event cancelled for 2021.

Organisers have announced that this year’s Glastonbury Festival won’t be taking place, due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Breaking the news on Twitter on Thursday 21 January 2021, Glastonbury organisers Michael and Emily Eavis revealed that 2021 will be another enforced fallow year for Worthy Farm in Somerset.

The news follows the cancellation of last year’s 50th anniversary event, which was set to be headlined by Sir Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift, during the first March 2020 lockdown.

The iconic festival would have attracted thousands of music fans from Gloucestershire and the South West, with its line-up plans for 2021 yet to be announced.

Those who purchased a ticket in October 2019 will have the chance to roll their deposit over to next year, with a ticket for Glastonbury 2022 guaranteed should they wish to buy one.
