Competing against 38 drivers from almost 30 separate countries, Becky Frankland from Coleford has made it to the inaugural Formula Woman Nations Cup finale at Dubai Autodrome in May 2025.
The 28-year-old Go-Kart mechanic claimed fourth place in the Formula Woman Nations Cup qualifiers at Dubai Autodrome after three closely fought qualifying sessions this December 2024.
It means Becky is now one of the favourites for the main finale next year.
Formula Woman founder and CEO, Graeme Glew, said: 'Many congratulations to Becky on an outstanding result. She fully deserved her fourth place, and it speaks volumes about her overall performance.
'There was some very impressive driving on show throughout the day and all the qualifiers will be delighted they have made it through to Formula Woman Nations Cup.
'There is so much talent within Formula Woman, and we are extremely proud to have hosted such a successful event in Dubai.'
Becky, who works at at JDR Karting in Gloucester, is thrilled with her successful result and is excited about the future.
She said: 'The Formula Woman qualifying event in Dubai is the peak of my ongoing journey. I’m still revelling in the highs of what was achieved, both from a personal level as well as the innovation and exposure gained for all the female athletes in a very much male dominated sport!
'However, I can’t take the praise without mentioning Graeme Glew, who has taken me under his wing, seeing my potential and opening the door to a path I didn't think existed for me.
'In the last 12 months I have also had invaluable support from my other half and parents. Without any of the people mentioned, I wouldn't be where I am today.
'I also want to thank to Edo Bacci, my coach during the qualifiers in Dubai. I take the emotional support from outside sources onto the track, but this man analysed every inch of my qualifying sessions and my test day beforehand and without this support, fourth place would have been a pipe dream!
'Come January the preparation starts in earnest to get race ready. As with any sport, repetition and consistency are key to success, so for the next five months my focus will be on getting time on track and keeping up with my fitness.
'My goal in motorsport is quite simply, to be a racing driver. I don't know exactly under which discipline or formula it will be in, as I am still taking everything in my stride just one day at a time.
'I am very much looking forward to seeing what opportunities come my way and I intend to grab them all with both hands.'
