Everyman Theatre reveals the first project under the Three Counties Talent Hub (3CTH) umbrella — a stage-writing competition for local writers.

A new joint venture, Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre and Malvern Theatres reveal a new stage-writing competition for adult writers working in the Three Counties region.

The ambitious new development programme — Three Counties Talent Hub (3CTH) — aims to identify and foster new industry professionals, offering creatives working in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire a platform to showcase their work for a wider audience.

Paul Milton, Everyman Theatres creative director, said: 'The Everyman is delighted to work with Malvern Theatres on this exciting new project, which gives a unique opportunity for a local talented playwright, or writing team for that matter, to showcase their work in two major theatres, but to also launch their name and work into the wider theatre world.'

The piece, suitable for a maximum of three performers, should ‘have a sense of place resonating with Malvern and/or Cheltenham’, with drama as its primary form, but could include music and/or physical theatre or other movement.

As well as seeing their piece performed on the professional stage in spring 2025, the writer or writing team will also receive royalties from the ticketed performances.

Submission of content is free and 3CTH welcomes scripts from writers of all ages, all levels of experience, regardless of background, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, race, religion or sexual orientation.

Entries are to be submitted by no later than Tuesday 31 December 2024.
