A play about the power of music in the hardest of times will help raise money to give city children a taste of country life.
Acclaimed author Michael Morpurgo will give a talk after a performance of his play The Mozart Question to support the charity he founded with his wife — Farms for City Children.
The charity gives disadvantaged youngsters a taste of life on one of its three farms, which includes Wick Court at Arlingham in Gloucestershire.
The author will join guests for canapés and drinks at The Barn Theatre in Cirencester on Friday 25 March 2022.
Morpurgo said: ‘It is the most important story I have ever written, about the best and most beautiful and most heavenly that is in us, and the worst and most wicked and most hellish too. It is a play that reflects the power of music to heal, to bring reconciliation and peace in a troubled world.’
Tickets cost £55 for the special evening which starts at 6.30pm. The play will run from Monday 21 March to Saturday 30 April 2022.
