Comedy legend Bill Bailey — famous for his roles in Black Books, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You and QI, not to mention a whole host of stand-up shows — is coming to Tewkesbury this autumn.
He's performing a run of eight intimate 'work in progress' shows at The Roses Theatre in September 2023, where audiences will be among the very first people to see his brand-new material.
The Roses Theatre's commercial director, Caroline Lawrence, said: 'This is huge, not just for The Roses, but for the whole of Tewkesbury. We are delighted that Bill reached out to us to do these shows — work in progress gigs like these are so special as not only do audiences get a really intimate evening with a comedy legend, but they can legitimately claim that they heard it here first!'
Guests will also be some of the first to sample food from the theatre's newly refurbished bar and kitchen, which is due to open in August 2023.
Lawrence continued: 'It’s a really exciting time for The Roses. We have been offering pizzas for a few months now, but from August people will really be able to make a night of it and enjoy a wider range of food, snacks and drinks alongside their chosen show. More details will be released shortly!'
Bailey is performing two shows a night, one at 7pm and one at 9pm, on Monday 11, Tuesday 12, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 September 2023.
Tickets cost £25 and are on general sale from Friday 28 July 2023.
