It was the big news movie fans have been waiting for, but they’ll have to wait just a bit longer, as Cineworld cinemas in Cheltenham’s Brewery Quarter and Gloucester Quays have announced they will be reopening at the later date of Friday 31 July 2020.

The cinema chain will be welcoming film fans back two weeks later than originally planned, for the first time since lockdown began in March 2020.

Social distancing implemented throughout all areas of its cinemas. Film times will be staggered to reduce the number of customers exiting the cinema at the same time and avoid crowds in the foyer.

Seating maps have also been updated to allow friends and family to sit together while ensuring a safe distance from other customers.

Other new safety measures include installing hand sanitiser stations, an enhanced cleaning programme, screens at tills and PPE for staff.

Movies expected to be released at the cinema this summer include Mulan, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Widow, Tenet, A Quiet Place II and the latest James Bond movie No Time To Die.

Film fans can book tickets online in advance or pay via contactless payment using ticket machines inside the cinema.
