Cheltenham Jazz Festival is returning to town from Tuesday 5 to Sunday 10 May 2020 and SoGlos can reveal the much-anticipated full line-up.
Joining previously announced musical megastar and artistic curator Gregory Porter at this year’s Cheltenham Jazz Festival will be big names including New Wave icons Squeeze, the new blues/folk co-operative Saving Grace featuring Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant and Suzi Dian, Brit soulstress Beverley Knight and Irish singer-songwriter Imelda May with the Ronnie Scott’s Big Band.
R&B funk legends KC and the Sunshine Band will also be at Cheltenham Jazz Festival this May 2020, as well as Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winning Booker T Jones, multi-million-selling vocalist Emeli Sandé, Ibibio Sound Machine, million-selling US vocalist Stacey Kent and many more names for the six-day music festival.
Spanning world-class contemporary jazz, blues, soul, R&B and pop, this year’s festival also includes Malian pop duo Amadou & Mariam, The Blind Boys Of Alabama, multi-instrumentalist, DJ and cultural pioneer Nitin Sawhney. DJ and broadcaster Gilles Peterson is taking up residence at new pop-venue dubbed Warehouse @ The Brewery Quarter and Late Night Jam Sessions are back at Hotel du Vin.
BBC Radio 2 is making a special broadcast of the New Orleans-themed Friday Night is Music Night with Guy Barker’s Big Band and the BBC Concert Orchestra – sponsored by SoGlos.
Cheltenham Jazz Festival’s family programme once again includes the Yahama Discovery Space with shows for all ages from babies upwards, and chance to try out instruments. Other family highlights include the return of Shlomo’s Beatbox Adventure For Kids.
Cheltenham Jazz Festival tickets go on sale to Cheltenham Festival members at 10am on Wednesday 26 February 2020 and on general sale from 10am on Wednesday 4 March 2020.
