An impressive outdoor cinema experience is coming to the Cotswolds, from Monday 6 July 2020, as The Luna Drive In Cinema arrives at Blenheim Palace in nearby Oxfordshire.
The stunning location will provide the backdrop for hit movies like Back to the Future, Dirty Dancing and Sister Act, as well as cult classics including Romeo + Juliet and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. There’s even a singalong screening of Grease.
The socially distanced screenings all benefit from state-of-the-art technology with what organisers say is ‘the country’s highest definition outdoor LED screens’ and in-car sound through personal wireless speakers, plus waiters on skates and scooters will deliver oven-baked pizzas, fresh popcorn and drinks ordered remotely using an app.
For an extra special treat, movie-goers can pre-order hampers including retro sweets and even a cheese board to collect on arrival.
The Luna Cinema’s founder George Wood said: ‘We’ve managed to make every aspect of the event fully compliant with social distancing regulations, from the way they tickets are scanned through to the provision of food and drink, audiences can attend our drive in screenings with confidence, and return to one of the things we’ve all been missing most in lockdown – enjoying a great film on a giant screen under the stars.
