Music themed comedy show Never Mind the Buzzcocks is making a grand comeback, rebooting with a new celebrity panel featuring BCC Three This Country star Daisy May Cooper and The Mighty Boosh’s Noel Fielding as team captains with Taskmaster’s Greg Davies as the host.
Originally aired on the BBC between 1996 and 2015, Sky has announced that as the new broadcaster the quiz show will air a series of eight 45-minute episodes, along with a Christmas special later in the year, exclusively showing on Sky and NOW TV.
Viewers can be ready for the usual dry, sarcastic humour as each show will feature music and comedy stars competing against each other in a sequence of rounds all based on pop music.
Director of Sky Arts and Entertainment for Sky, Phil Edgar-Jones, said: ‘Buzzcocks is one of those truly iconic shows and to be bringing it back with Greg Davies at the helm, alongside Daisy May Cooper, Noel Fielding and Jamali Maddix is a buzz and a treat for lovers of tuneless humming everywhere.’
The show will return this autumn but an official start date is yet to be confirmed.
