Strike A Light is offering paid support and training to four Gloucester-based creatives aged 18 to 30, this February 2021.
It’s looking for creative projects from emerging artists, designed to have a positive impact on the local community during lockdown – with a special focus on isolated or vulnerable people.
The short-term training scheme will help bring four projects to life between February and March 2021, by providing a fee of £1,920; a budget of up to £200 for expenses; and access to a mentor, a project manager and the wider Strike A Light team.
Acknowledging that many people in the community are tired of online interaction and some don’t have access to technology at all, Strike A Light says it is particularly interested in projects that aren’t digital-only – such as letter writing schemes, painting projects, street dance and pavement concerts.
People who are under-represented in the creative sector, or who have experienced discrimination, are also encouraged to apply for the scheme.
Anyone who is eligible for the scheme can send a 1,000 word written proposal or video to Strike A Light via email, with details of what their project entails, who it is for, what is needed to make it happen and the potential positive outcomes.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday 27 January 2021, with the four chosen projects planned to start from Monday 8 February 2021.
