We’ve all been there, you’re running for the bus and have to scrabble around for change for the fare.

But that stress can be a thing of the past, if you download the newly improved Stagecoach West mobile app.

As well as being able to plan your route, locate the nearest stop and find out when your next bus will arrive, you can now pay by contactless bank card or your mobile phone, using Apple Pay or Android Pay.

The new improvements to the app mean that you can pay for your journey using just your fingerprint, when it’s set up on your mobile phone. All 280 buses on routes throughout Gloucestershire and the West have been updated with the contactless technology.

It’s hoped the new app improvements will encourage more people to plan their journey by bus, being able to pay quickly, safely and securely.

Stagecoach West’s managing director Rupert Cox said: ‘It has never been easier to travel by bus and we are determined to make it a hassle free, convenient and enjoyable experience.’
