This year's Fresh: Art Fair has been a record-breaking success, welcoming more visitors than ever and achieving its highest ever individual sale.

The popular annual event at Cheltenham Racecourse brings Britain's biggest choice of art to Gloucestershire and welcomed 6,131 visitors to The Centaur this year.

A record 1,300 people attended the Private View on Thursday 27 April 2023 — a 100 per cent increase compared to 2022 and well above pre-Covid attendance.

On top of record-breaking visitor numbers, the Private View also saw a signed Picasso print become the highest ever individual sale in the event's history. The lithograph in colours of 'Colombe de Paix', signed in pencil by the iconic painter himself, sold for £27,000.

The event is proud to showcase contemporary and modern art from 50 different galleries from across the UK and beyond. With work from emerging young artists standing side-by-side with huge names like Picasso, Banksy and Matisse, it provides an eclectic and diverse range of pieces to choose from, spanning paintings and prints to sculptures and glass.

With prices ranging from £50 upwards, it also gives art enthusiasts the chance to own a piece they love, with 650 original artworks being purchased by visitors over the weekend.

Fresh: Art Fair travels to Ascot Racecourse, just outside London, from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 September 2023, before returning to Gloucestershire in 2024.
