A Life in Lockdown, the new exhibition from the Museum of Gloucester, is being hosted online from Thursday 3 December 2020, so people all over the county can view the exhibits safely from home, during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The exhibition was originally scheduled to open at the Museum of Gloucester on Thursday 26 November 2020, but lockdown restrictions in England meant the museum had to close.
Instead of postponing the launch until restrictions lift, the decision was made to host A Life in Lockdown as a digital exhibition instead.
Comprised of memories collected from people across Gloucestershire during the first national lockdown, the exhibition will also be added to the museum’s permanent digital collection.
People are being encouraged to continue submitting their memories from August onwards to add to the collection too, which organisers hope will be able to be displayed at the Museum of Gloucester when it’s safe to do so.
