Disassembled in 2013 due to the unavailability of custom-made parts, the historic Tailor of Gloucester Clock is returning to the city's Eastgate Shopping Centre this April 2025.
Once a key part of the shopping centre's charm, the clock was removed and donated to the Pied Piper Appeal, with its components being shared across Gloucestershire — including to Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools.
Although the clock will not return in its entirety, its most eye-catching elements will be returning to Eastgate where they will once again take pride of place at the top of the escalators.
Its return coincides with the start of the Easter school holidays, offering families a chance to experience the clock once again.
When in use, the clock would chime on the hour with Beatrix Potter characters moving throughout, and the new display will include images showing the clock in the past as well as an explanation of its history.
Shoppers can grab a glimpse of the reinstalled Tailor of Gloucester Clock at Eastgate Shopping Centre from Saturday 12 April 2025.
