Stroud has topped the list of towns and cities in a nationwide search for the ‘least wasteful town’ – coming in the top spot for not only the south west, but the whole of England, too!
The Gloucestershire town was one of over 100 locations across the country to be compared and included in the study, conducted by eco-friendly retail company, Bower Collective.
Looking at a five-year trend, Bower Collective discovered that Stroud’s recycling rate amassed to a huge 57 per cent above the national average – so it’s no surprise that the market town was awarded the top rank.
Stroud wasn’t the only place in the county to be included in the south west’s list, with Cheltenham also being celebrated as a low-waste location, coming in at the 20th spot.
