Budding photographers in Gloucestershire are in with the chance to win the ultimate photography prize, thanks to a new photography competition from Cobalt Health.
Capture A Moment for Cobalt is open to both amateur and professional photographers, so no experience is necessary to take part – with the competition helping to raise funds to provide teenagers and young adults with cancer a specialist nurse.
There are three categories to enter: ‘Caring and Sharing’, ‘Nature in all its forms’ and ‘Happiness is…’ as well as an under 16’s category.
Twelve lucky winners will be chosen to receive amazing prizes such as a Canon EOS 2000D with lens, the opportunity to be featured in the Cobalt 2022 calendar, a Light & Land photography workshop, subscriptions to the Royal Photographic Society and to Amateur Photography magazine, as well as a tour of Steve Russell Studios in Stroud.
Kirsty Bradbury, Fundraising Engagement Officer for Cobalt said: ‘We’re extremely excited about the photography competition. It is open to everyone and you can enter as many images as you like.
‘Smart phone entries are welcome too for a chance to win some of our amazing prizes. The money raised will be used to fund Cobalt’s Teenage and Young Adults with Cancer Nurse Specialist who supports some of the most vulnerable in our society; 16 to 25-year-olds who have been given a life-threatening diagnosis.
‘Cobalt needs to raise £28,000 each year to ensure that the vital support they receive will continue.’
The closing date for entries is Tuesday 31 August 2021 and a £2 donation is required to enter the competition.
What’s more, anyone who enters the competition before Sunday 23 May 2021 will be able to attend a workshop with two professional photographers, Sally Ryde and Kevin Pascoe for free – with the workshop taking place on Sunday 23 May 2021.
