Kicking off Paralympics GB's pursuit for glory in Paris, the Para Cycling team stormed out of the gates, winning the first medals of the games.
Cotswolds-based Daphne Schrager took silver in the women's C1-3 3000m individual pursuit, while her teammate Steve Bate also won silver in the men's B 4000m individual pursuit final.
While Daphne is the reigning world champion in her discipine, she's making her Paralympic debut at Paris 2024 — making the win all the more impressive.
The fierce final was well-fought by all the athletes involved, with Daphne striving for gold throughout, but the race was dominated by Xiaomei Wang of China, who finished nearly 10 seconds ahead of Daphne and almost lapped her.
Tearfully accepting her medal on the podium from Hollywood legend, Jackie Chan, Daphne said: 'Honestly it's just mesmerising, I've dreamed of this since I was a kid.'
And at just 23-years-old, she's keeping her ultimate goal of gold firmly in mind as she looks to return at the LA games in four years time.
