Happy 15th birthday to Gloucester Quays! The shopping and leisure destination turns 15 this May 2024 and is celebrating with a weekend of special discounts.

Gloucester Quays turns 15 this May 2024 — and it's inviting visitors to celebrate the milestone with a weekend of discounts across the centre.

From Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June 2024, visitors can enjoy a birthday treat with 10 to 30 per cent off stores and restaurants across the centre from AllSaints to Zizzi; plus there's a chance to win a £50 Gloucester Quays gift card when you snap a selfie at the floral phone box and post it to social media, tagging in Gloucester Quays with #GQ15.

There'll also be brass band performances throughout the day in the mall and outside at Orchard Street Market on Saturday, to bring a party vibe to the event.

The waterfront retail and leisure destination first opened its doors on Saturday 30 May 2009, transforming the area and bringing a vibrant, modern attraction to Gloucester's historic docks.

Gloucester Quays has brought a multitude of benefits, not just to Gloucester, but to the county as a whole, drawing people from the midlands, south Wales and the whole of the south west, making it one of Gloucestershire's most popular visitor attractions.

As well as offering an unrivalled shopping experience with up to 70 per cent off retail prices on big-name High Street and designer brands; a plethora of restaurants and bars; and a multi-screen cinema, Gloucester Quays also works hard to create unique experiences for visitors, through large-scale events like the annual Gloucester Quays Food Festival and its hugely popular Christmas market and outdoor ice rink.

It also plays host to hundreds of crafters and traders from across the region at its monthly Orchard Street Market, giving shoppers the chance to pick up unique, artisan and handcrafted items they won't find anywhere else.

In a statement on its website, it said: 'At Gloucester Quays, we are not just about bricks and mortar; we are about creating experiences and fostering connections. Our 15-year journey has been marked by a commitment to community, economic growth, and social revitalization. We are proud to have played a major part in Gloucester’s physical, economic, and social renaissance.

'The impact of Gloucester Quays extends beyond commerce, with the development creating thousands of jobs and serving as a cornerstone for the city’s regeneration project. Through annual large-scale community events, Gloucester Quays has reinvigorated the heart of the city, bringing together residents and visitors alike to celebrate the spirit of Gloucester.

'As Gloucester Quays marks this significant milestone, it looks forward to continuing its mission of driving positive change and fostering a sense of belonging within the community. With ongoing commitments to innovation, sustainability, and community engagement, Gloucester Quays remains dedicated to transforming the landscape and enhancing the quality of life for all.

'As we celebrate our 15th anniversary, we invite you to join the festivities and create lasting memories with us. Explore our special anniversary offers, participate in exciting events, and share your favourite moments with us on social media using #GQ15. Together, let’s celebrate 15 years of success, growth, and community at Gloucester Quays.'
