Sir David Attenborough is coming to nearby Bristol for a one-off event – and Gloucestershire’s natural history fans can apply for free tickets – with 300 up for grabs.
As well as an exclusive screening of the first episode of BBC Studios’ new Seven Worlds, One Planet, Sir David will be taking part in a live Q&A session with the production team behind the series, at the Showcase de Lux cinema in Cabot Circus on Wednesday 23 October 2019.
Members of the public can apply for tickets on the BBC Shows and Tours website until 10pm on Thursday 10 October 2019.
SoGlos readers will remember that Sir David Attenborough was in Cheltenham for the Literature Festival last October – with tickets selling out before they even went on public sale, so demand for free tickets will undoubtedly be high.
Organisers say Seven Worlds, One Planet ‘follows the fortunes of some of the Earth’s most fascinating creatures – from the baking plains of Africa and frozen waters off Antarctica to the far reaches of Asia.
‘The series also touches on the many challenges faced by animals in a modern world dominated by humans. By telling unknown, unseen and unexpected wildlife stories, we uncover the fundamental truth about what makes each one of our seven worlds unique.’
The television series has been made by BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit (NHU), which has been based in Bristol for more than 60 years, and is home to some of the most watched natural history shows in the world, including Planet Earth, Blue Planet and Dynasties.
