Eight new sculptures could be installed at the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail at Beechenhurst Lodge near Coleford this summer.
Plans for a new, one-way art trail on the site of the existing sculpture trail, including eight new temporary sculptures, have been submitted to Forest of Dean Council.
Sculptures will include arms hugging trees; a poem on a metal cylinder; a badger shelter; shovel bugs fixed to trees; and an installation of hanging bottles, with the new sculptures available to see from July to October 2021 – if plans are approved.
The plans were submitted to the council after the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trust was awarded a £27,550 grant from the government’s Culture Recovery Fund in April 2021.
The new trail is designed to be shorter and more family-friendly, to encourage more people to visit the attraction and help with its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
